Rania! Extremely unpopular due to their sexy concept, which is all they’re practically known for… And they are therefore very under-appreciated for their singing abilities. Lots of noise marketing for being affiliated/produced by Teddy Riley, but now that he’s deserted them, I think Rania is unfortunately going to fade out of sight once everybody gets over their raunchy outfits and lyrics. This is really too bad, because they really can sing. Their song isn’t that great, though; “Dr. Feel Good” is really repetitive and it does remind me of “Sweet Dreams” in some parts, but it’s my guilty pleasure lol. It would have been interesting to see them debut in America like they were planning to from the beginning, although I doubt they would have had much success (even though their English is pretty good).
Rania was a nice change from all the other girl groups out there. If they ever do come back with a new mini album, I really hope they don’t regress to the cutesy girly concepts. I think they might have to, though, in order to gain popularity and not just bad press for their suggestive choreography. I do hope their management company doesn’t fail them.
But the prompt says
a k-pop idol, so I guess I should choose one person and not a whole group lol. I did say on
Day 3 that I think
Doojoon is a very underrated singer in Beast. I like his deep voice and although Beast’s songs usually distribute lyrics pretty evenly among all six members, Doojoon got the short end of the stick in “Fiction.” It’s too bad that you often can’t hear him that much when he sings in the background. (Side note: “Fiction” has really grown on me. I already liked it very much when it first came out but now I FREAKING LOVE IT. Maybe even more than “Shock.” :O)
